Ashley Antonio is a Barrister with Bottos Law Group, specializing in criminal defense. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Antonio had worked for the Edmonton Drug Treatment Court, the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, The Edmonton Police Service, The Boyle McCauley Health Centre, and other agencies related to criminal justice, addictions, and mental health treatment, specializing in work with marginalized populations.
Ms. Antonio was honoured to receive the Alexander Pringle Criminal Law Scholarship, as well as the Alberta Law Foundation Legal Services Grant for her work with low income populations during law school. While at the University of Alberta, Ms. Antonio focused on criminal law, specifically enjoying her opportunities to gain practical work experience with Gladue writers and Innocence Canada. She has also been published in academic journals and book chapters on a wide range of topics related to addiction, and deviance.
In her spare time, Ms. Antonio is an avid traveller. Her favorite locations include Asia, the Middle East, and anywhere on the Mediterranean. You can also find her eating cheese and drinking wine in the sun with her husband, two dogs, and cat.
Ms. Antonio understands the overwhelming feeling of trying to navigate the criminal justice system and is happy to use her experience in all areas to assist. She is passionate about her clients and finding them the best resolutions to their matters.
