Austin Corbett Discusses Youth Sentencing on CBC Radio

On July 18, Austin Corbett appeared on CBC Radio’s Edmonton AM.  He discussed the recent case of youth vandalism in the west end. Paving stones were thrown through car windows, bus stations, and into homes.  The focus of the conversation was on youth sentencing, and what the possible sentence might be if the allegations were proven.

Youth criminal justice is a specialized field of criminal law, and if your child is charged with a crime, they deserve a lawyer with expertise and experience in this unique field.  Sentences for young people range widely, from disclipinary sanctions to probation and community service, but can in some circumstances include jail or house arrest.  Young people have unique rights and protections not afforded to adults charged with criminal offences.

Please give us a call if you know someone between the ages of 12 and 18 who has been charged with a criminal offence.
